Weekly Discussions

A curated space for my weekly discussions—capturing the ideas, lessons, and creative moments that inspired me throughout the course.

For this assignment, I created three ads—one for Instagram, one for Facebook, and one for a platform of my choice—using each site’s correct size specifications. I explained why each ad was designed for its specific audience and how platform differences shape visual requirements. I also researched paid advertising options, including CTR and pricing, and identified the most effective option for the campaign.

Facebook :  $0.50-$1.50 for CPC

Instagram: $0.70-$2.00 for CPC

Tiktok: $0.10-$1.00 for CPC

For this week’s lab, I created advertisements for Rhode Beauty, highlighting the Peptide Lip Tint and Pocket Blush. Two products are known for their minimalist design.

On Instagram, I created a 1024x1024 with Visual storytelling & brand identity. Instagram rewards visual cohesion. The ad uses editorial typography, “ultra sweet for spring,” and clean imagery to blend into aesthetic feeds.

Facebook, I created a 940x788 advertisement with more information & conversion-focused. Facebook users engage longer with captions and clear CTAs like “Shop Now”, so the ad includes benefit callouts and a shopping button.

For TikTok, I created advertisements 1080x1920 focused on entertainment and emotional appeal. TikTok thrives on personality and motion. The TikTok version uses bold headlines to capture quick attention in a fast-scroll environment.

Cross-platform analysis

I analyzed one influencer across three different platforms, examining how their content, engagement, and audience strategy changed on each channel. I included a brief biography with their name, handle, what they’re known for, the platforms they use, and their follower counts to provide context. This assignment focused on understanding how influencers adapt their presence and style depending on the platform and audience

This assignment focused on understanding how publics form on social media through dynamics like searchability, discoverability, decodability, and silosociality. I selected one public platform and analyzed how its design and features shape the way communities gather, interact, and share information.
